Launched in 2023, as a part of the Climate Governance Initiative (CGI), Chapter Zero Uzbekistan aims to mainstream consideration of climate risk into business and investment decision-making to facilitate efficient allocation of capital and to enable a smooth transition to a low-carbon economy.
The core mission of the Chapter is to promote the implementation of the World Economic Forum’s Principles for Effective Climate Governance in line with CGI Charter, while equipping non-executive directors with skills and knowledge to make climate change a boardroom priority.
The Climate Governance Initiative (CGI) is developed in collaboration with the World Economic Forum.
Governance structure
ADVISORY BOARD MEMBERS (PATRON CHAIRS)
Advisory board members and experts act as ambassadors and utilize their personal influence to develop the Chapter, at the same time indicating potential directions for the initiative. The board relies on its professional network to recruit other high-profile chairs and non-executives to the Chapter, and provides keynote speakers and experts for the Chapter events
Steering committee members
Steering committee is the key decision-making body in the Chapter. Decisions may include: event planning, capacity building plan, accepting members to Chapter Zero at the request of the Project Management Office, Advisory Board and the Steering Committee members themselves.

Anuar Kazbekov
Project Management Office
Manages the project team, executes plans made by the Steering Committee, while solving day-to-day operational activities and decisions. Additionally, it presents recommendations on the admission of Chapter Zero members to the Steering Committee.
